ANOTHER SLAP IN THE FACE

For years I have stated that Italian/Americans have two enemies, the media and Italian/Americans. It was sadly brought to my attention when I was told that the New Jersey Chapter of the Cooley's Anemia Foundation was honoring Dominic Chianese, "Uncle Jr." of "The Sopranos."

Now practically every Italian/American organization that I'm aware of donates time and money to will fight this killer of children. These same organizations have been fighting negative stereotyping for years and "The Sopranos" since its debut.

So when the New Jersey Chapter of the Cooley's Anemia, which is primarily made up of Italian/Americans, honors an actor that is a part of a series that defames our people and our heritage, it is as if it slapped us in the face. It hurts twice as much coming from our fellow Italian/Americans.
